Being a stay at home mom has been fun but I’ve actually grown pretty restless over the last few years.
I know most people think it’s insane to consider getting into real estate right now and I totally understand why but you know, in my little corner of the world you can actually make a pretty good living as an agent. I think it’s partly because so many people are buying right now because they think the market has hit rock bottom (I don’t think it has) but you know, there are always reasons for people to be on the market for a new home.
I love that there are so many things for me to do with real estate so I got wireless internet Baytown at home and I’ve been studying for the exam which is coming up soon. I think there’s something to be said for having a skill like this one and it’s going to make me some real money in the long run, you know?
I can’t wait!
What is your plan for next year?
Now that 2011 is about to end, it’s high time to make some new year’s resolution and plans. Like the rest, I also have habits that I want to change, goals that I would like to achieve and places that I want to visit in the coming year.
As for my financial goal, I am planning to start a new business next year. I’ll venture on selling some merchandise online and I might even set up a buy and sell type of site so that other sellers can also market their products in it.
Even though I still haven’t put up enough money for financial capital for the said business, I am aware that there are lots of financial assistance programs available to entrepreneurs and business owners here in the US so I’m counting on the possibility that I could obtain some type of small business grants either from the local government agencies, federal government agencies or major corporations.
If you also have a plan to start a business or expand an existing one but don’t know where to start looking for grants, just ask around or check with the government agencies about financial assistance that are given to small business entrepreneurs.
Don’t forget to also search on the internet. Sites such as BusinessGrant.org lists some opportunities, resources and news about small business grants.
Don’t let the lack of capital to stop you from doing what you want. There are lots of agencies and groups that are willing to help. You just need to be resourceful.
Today, I received a special christmas card from my friend, Julie. She lives in and has established a career as an auditor in United Kingdom. She’s also found her own prince charming there and they already have her own family there too.
We manage to keep in touch via social networking sites in the internet and a few phone calls in between. We used to exchange cards during special occasions but I completely forgot to send her any card this Christmas. It will be too late to send her one right now, right?
Oh, I feel so guilty!
Anyway, since she loves flowers, I leaning toward sending her flowers instead of a christmas card. Of course, I won’t be shipping it from here ’cause it’s gonna take forever before it reaches her. There are online stores specializing in flower delivery uk and that’s gonna solve my dilemma. I just order the items and with just a few clicks, my gifts will be on her way.
Do you also have friends and relatives overseas? Do you find it hard to send them something during special occasions? If you haven’t tried ordering online, I suggest that you do that. It’s fast, convenient and sometimes a lot cheaper than sending theme anything from here.
I’m not really into traveling, probably because I came from a middle class family. Even though both my parents are working, most of their income went to basic necessities: food, shelter, clothing and education. Traveling was a “luxury” for us at that time – and I still look at it that way now.
I remember a friend, Emmie, who comes from a well-off family. Her dad used to work in a prestigious law firm and her mother on the other hand kept herself busy with her chain of stores. As a way to bond as a family, they would usually travel during summer to another state and even abroad.
There was a time when they visited Russia. I can still recall that they hired a Russian translator from a Russian translation company when they arrived there.
Emmie said that without someone from a Russian translation agency to provide them with Russian translations, they might be lost or would have a hard time going from place to place so her parents hired a translator.
Can you imagine that? For us, thinking of the travel expenses are already overwhelming. Just the plane tickets, hotels and accommodations would already leave a hole in our pockets – to pay for some Russian translation service will be too much.
Oh well, if I can afford it, I probably would have loved traveling worldwide too but for now, there are other practical things that I should consider and prepare for.
How do you spend your free time?
I am a homebody even before I got married so when I became a full-time stay at home wife and mother, keeping myself busy at home was not a problem. Aside from the motherly and wifely tasks, I keep myself busy by reading, doing cross stitch, watching movies and television shows, gardening and sketching.
Recently, most of my free time are spent online. I update my blogs, blog hop, join online contests or just plain read some articles and news. I also started learning how to design blogs and it’s already one of my part-time “jobs.”
Oh, I almost forgot, much of my online time is spent at Facebook too. It’s where I get updated of what’s happening with my friends and get in touch with those I haven’t seen for quite some time. I also love playing lots of Facebook games like Mafia Wars, Cafe World, Farmville, Pet Society, Petville and Texas HoldEm Poker (yeah I play those but only in Facebook and not in online sites like http://www.atlanticpoker.com/ because I’m not really an expert and I just play virtual chips.
How about you? How do you spend your free time? Care to share in the comments section?
