Home and Family from a SAHWM's Perspective

A Sad Story

September 28, 2012

lawyer

When a family breaks up, it’s always a sad thing.

Recently, my friend named Helen separated from his husband, Mark. They’ve been married for more than a decade and their union was blessed by three sweet princesses aged nine, six, and three.

They are planning on a divorce and had been consulting with their respective family lawyers about lots of various legal matters. Helen and Mark wants to make sure that everything from the issue of child custody and access to child support and property division are well taken cared of.

It’s a sad thing to note though that no matter how amiable their separation will be, their three little daughters lives will never be the same. Their eldest daughter, according to Helen, is having a hard time dealing with their separation. She’s shown signs of rebellion even at such a young age.

I hope that everything will go well, not only for Helen and Mark but for all their three daughters as well. May they find a way to make their children understand that even though their parents will be separated, they as parents will always remain as their parents – to love and support each child even though their relationship as husband and wife was already through.

Shopping With Discount Codes

Shopping With Discount Codes [image credit: all-free-download.com]

It’s time for some shopping!

We got some discount coupon the other day from a well-known appliance center here in the city. I’m so excited to buy a new audio cabinet. The one that we currently have is a bit outdated and really doesn’t match our new stuff. Do you believe that it’s a 55% off coupon code?! Great right?

Have you been using discount coupons lately? What did you purchase? Care to share about it in the comments section?

Winter’s Just Around the Corner

Beautiful Winter Snow [image credit: all-free-download.com]

Have you noticed that it’s getting chillier each day. That only means one thing, winter is just around the corner.

Last year, we went skiing and my husband and I agreed that we’re gonna do it again. We just needed to buy new ski jackets because last year, the ones we wore were not really of good quality and it somehow spoiled the fun.

Do you also have plans or are looking forward to some of the activities you’ll do this winter? What are those? Care to share?

What to Do When You Find a Lost Bag in a Public Place

September 14, 2012

Earlier today, after wrapping up my grocery run, I stopped by a fast-food place for a quick bite — just burgers and fries to recharge. I picked a table by the window, and as I was about to sit down, I spotted a black bag resting on one of the chairs.

It looked like someone had forgotten it. The zipper was slightly open, revealing a few tools and what seemed to be an electronic pH meter. Clearly, this was no ordinary handbag — probably something work-related and important.

I didn’t want to touch anything inside, so I carried it straight to the cashier and explained what happened. Hopefully, they can locate the owner and get it back to them soon.

Moments like these remind me that it takes only a small act of honesty to make a real difference. Losing something valuable can ruin a day — but finding it returned can completely turn things around.

💡 If You Find a Lost Bag, Here’s What to Do

  1. Don’t rummage through it. Resist the urge to check what’s inside unless you can see ID in plain view.
  2. Tell an employee or security staff right away. They’re usually trained to handle lost-and-found items.
  3. Avoid taking it with you. Keeping it could cause unnecessary confusion or even suspicion.
  4. Leave your contact info if possible. In case the staff or owner needs to reach you later.

❤️ Why Returning Lost Items Matters

It might seem like a tiny gesture, but returning a lost belonging can mean the world to someone — especially if it holds tools, documents, or memories that are hard to replace.

Doing the right thing doesn’t just help another person; it strengthens trust and kindness in everyday life. The next time you spot something left behind, take a moment to turn it in. You never know whose day you might brighten.

Excited to Do Yoga

September 12, 2012

How was your week?

This week, my friend, Tina, invited me to the opening of her gym. She just rented a space near downtown, bought some wholesale yoga supplies and voila! – she already has a gym or yoga clinic. Of course, I got complimentary or free “membership package” as her friend but even though it’s just for 3 months, I’m still excited.

I’ve never done yoga before. Have you?

Insuring Our Children’s Future

August 23, 2012

In these tough times, it’s a must to prepare for the future.

Since we can’t predict the future, my husband and I decided to get cheap term life insurance for that peace of mind so that our children’s future will be secure. It’s cheaper than the permanent life insurance policies but we can use the difference in the premiums to invest in something that will benefit our family now and in the future.

Do you consider taking a life insurance too? Do you have one already? What are your thoughts re: life insurance?
