Two Ways for SAHWM to Recharge With Friends

friends-drinking-tea-and-chatting-at-a-partyAs a wife and a stay-at-home mom, it’s pretty easy for your life to revolve around your family. After all, you’re considered the one that everyone goes to for everything. However, if you don’t make sure that you have people you can go to, you’ll end up burning yourself out. While your husband should be somebody that you’re able to go to for rejuvenation, it’s also good to have someone outside of that. Preferably, it’s great to have a group of girlfriends you can connect with. Understandably, it can be really hard when your friends have busy lives as well.

Consider these two ways you can get time with your girlfriends to recharge.

1. Get creative with the times.

Sometimes, you’ll have to get really creative about the times you connect with friends. In most cases, people don’t schedule activities early in the morning. Plus, this is the time when your husband and children are typically asleep. Most coffee houses open up pretty early. If you have a friend who’s willing, consider waking up a little earlier to meet up for coffee in the morning. You can use this time to catch up with one another and encourage each another before you start the day. Make sure that you get to bed extra early the night before so that you can be alert and awake for the coffee date.

2. Schedule a monthly date.

Schedule a mandatory monthly date with your friends. It’s really important to spend time recharging and connecting with women in your age range. When you’re so used to constantly doting over your children, it can be easy to feel lonely. In many cases, women admit that it’s just so nice to connect with fellow girlfriends and talk with adults. While your husband is wonderful, it’s nice to have other people to connect with as well. You want to maintain friendships outside of your marriage as well because you don’t want your spouse to be your entire world. That’ll get boring quickly.

Do various activities throughout the year. Take a trip to the new york city cabaret one month. Another month, you might decide you all want to go out to dinner. It doesn’t have to be an extravagant get-together. It just needs to involve you, your girlfriends and fun!
