Plan For Next Year

December 27, 2013

What is your plan for next year?

Now that 2013 is about to end, it’s high time to make some new year’s resolution and plans. Like the rest, I also have habits that I want to change, goals that I would like to achieve and places that I want to visit in the coming year.

As for my financial goal, I am planning to start a new business next year. I’ll venture on selling some merchandise online like promotional water bottles perhaps and I might even set up a buy and sell type of site so that other sellers can also market their products in it.

Even though I still haven’t put up enough money for financial capital for the said business, I am aware that there are lots of financial assistance programs available to entrepreneurs and business owners here in the US so I’m counting on the possibility that I could obtain some type of small business grants either from the local government agencies, federal government agencies or major corporations.

If you also have a plan to start a business or expand an existing one but don’t know where to start looking for grants, just ask around or check with the government agencies about financial assistance that are given to small business entrepreneurs.

Don’t forget to also search on the internet. Sites such as BusinessGrant.org lists some opportunities, resources and news about small business grants.

Don’t let the lack of capital to stop you from doing what you want. There are lots of agencies and groups that are willing to help. You just need to be resourceful.

Christmas Shopping List

December 3, 2013

It’s already December! For a stay at home wife and mother, what does it mean?

Well, it means planning about of the gifts that the kids will be receiving this Christmas – and of course, for hubby too (and our other close friends and relatives).

The usual pick will be toys, dresses and books for the kids. For hubby, it might be a new sports gear or laptop. For friends, I’m planning to buy bedroom sets here (please click link to open website).

How about you? Have you started on your Christmas shopping lists already?

Black Friday Shopping Frenzy

November 29, 2013

Belated happy thanksgiving everyone!

While everyone is still fast asleep after staying up late last night, I sneaked to the computer room to check my emails.

As expected, my email inbox is full of the discount codes and deals that I subscribed to prior to thanksgiving day. My (not so) hidden agenda, of course, is to have an online black friday shopping spree.

It’s too bad that I was not able to get coupons for commercial pumps at WeGotPumps.com. Anyway, my favorite online store sent me a 25% off coupon so there’s still reason to rejoice. And of course, there are some deals from Walmart, BestBuy, Studiopress and Hostgator.

Got to go! Need to do my black friday online shopping spree!

Are you craving for polvoron? You’re in luck because here’s a recipe of the classic polvoron which you can try at home.

Classic Polvoron Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup full cream milk powder

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Procedure for Making the Classic Polvoron

  1. Toast the all-purpose flour in a frying pan over medium heat. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon until light brown in color for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Transfer the toasted flour to a mixing bowl with flat beater attachment then add the rest of the dry ingredients. Mix for about 1 minute at slow speed. Set aside.
  3. Over medium heat, melt butter and margarine in a saucepan.
  4. Add the melted fat unto the dry ingredients then mix at low speed for approximately 3 minutes or until incorporated.
  5. Switch mixer to high speed then add vanilla. Mix for 30 seconds.

Things to Consider When Remodelling a Bathroom

September 21, 2013

bathroom
Is it time to remodel your bathroom?

A bathroom makeover doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to spend a lot of money for it. You just need to properly plan your move and consider a few things to achieve that goal without the need to shell out money for the hefty price tag.

Among the factors that you should consider for your bathroom makeover are the following:

  1. Style – you can look for various designs in magazines, internet, books, showrooms and other resources that you know for bathroom designs that appeal to you. When choosing a style, don’t just consider the “style” per se but the needs of the users as well
  2. Layout – create the best floor plan possible, maximizing the spaces and making things as accessible as possible.
  3. Lighting – properly positioned lighting helps a lot to make a bathroom more elegant and classy looking.
  4. Materials – choose materials that are easy to clean and try to coordinate them to make the total effect more appealing. For example, when you buy a countertop, choose some chrome faucets that will complement the overall design
  5. Storage – create ample storage for your stuff like linen, towels and tissue and incorporate them into your design.
  6. Accessories – be sure that you buy accessories such as soft towels, cozy bathrobes, candles, scented soaps and more

A Setback… or Not

August 27, 2013

Isn’t it ironic that sometimes, just when you think that you’re on the roll, something comes up and then you get distracted from what you’re doing?

Well, this is the case with me and my blog. I was so excited to blog again after a recent site redesign. I wanted to write more about being a stay at home wife and mother and topics related to homemaking tips but there’s been a lot of activities this summer that I lost a bit of interest in blogging daily.

Don’t look now but I still haven’t edited my previous posts about unrelated topics like exceptional mitchell ukulele mu-70 at wwbw but I’ll try to squeeze that into my schedule soon.

For now, I’ll just enjoy the rest of the summer outdoors with my family.

My New Hobby as a SAHWM

August 2, 2013

Do you know what I’ve been up to lately? Recently, I’ve been busy joining online contests and giveaways.

Most of the contest I have encountered just required liking pages and following accounts – a no-brainer task that I can squeeze into my schedule. Having an iPad makes it all easier because I can practically swipe and touch the screen while doing some stuff like cooking (just like when I was frying some chicken this morning).

I still have to win my first major prize but I know, I will get one soon. Persistence pays off, so they say.

PS. The only drawback that I experienced from joining these contests is having lots of spams in my email recently. This is the reason why I created an entirely different Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and email accounts that I will use entirely for joining these contests.
