New Year, New Design, New Direction

This is it!

When I wrote about my plans for this blog, I envisioned a more personal blog. I wanted something where I can share my thoughts, passions, daily drama, faith, knowledge and experiences – just like in a journal.

When I started blogging, it was all about having an online diary or journal of some sort but through the years, “blogging” has evolved into many things. Now, blogging can serve as a discussion or informational site, online brand advertising and even a source of livelihood. – YES, you can earn from blogging.

I will not lie, I earn from blogging. It’s not my bread and butter, it’s not even a stable source of income if you ask me but despite of being jobless after I got married more than 5 years ago, I was able to buy the things that I want (I particularly love techie gadgets), splurge on some stuff from time to time and still have savings in my bank account – all from blogging.

However, all those years of writing for advertisers has left me jaded. Who won’t be when all you have to think of every time you start writing is how to create an article where you need to input a certain word or phrase? I cannot complain since I like the idea that I earn from this hobby in the comfort of my home at my own sweet time (unless there is deadline to beat, of course) but I had lost passion in writing because of it.

After I finished doing our family blog’s redesign, I know I had to do something with this blog’s look, too. I wanted something that would inspire me to write – and this new minimalistic design reminds me of my first blog – a simple online journal.

I can finally say that I already know to which direction I want to go forward with this blog. Will you join me in my journey?

I love this design sis, very simple and yet very eye catching. Hubby sometimes asks me if I ever get tired of blogging, I told him that sometimes I do but when I think of the convenient of earning from home without driving, I definitely would keep this hobby for a very long time.

Blogging has also provided me a way to help augment our family income while giving me a venue to air out feelings and thoughts. I not only get to keep my sanity in check, I also get to earn a bit at the same time. πŸ™‚

I hear you! I used to blog solely for money years ago when I started it because I learned about it from friends. I was not having fun at all because I have to think of ways to creatively come up with a blog post that incorporates whatever task you have. When I decided to have a new blog, I wanted to have the control of what I want to blog and write about. Good luck on yours and I am liking this theme. Clean and easy to navigate.
